New Play Area

We are over the moon about our new Play Area.
We've enjoyed using it for our TCG tournaments, board game nights, and seeing new faces play a round or two with their family from our Play Library.
We happy to be growing into this space, but with growth is growing pains.
We are learning and handling different challenges that most people don't see. Know this, we always strive to be a positive environment that focuses on community and having fun.
But with more kids in the sandbox, more boundaries are needed to make sure everyone feels safe and has fun. All while being able to keep the lights on.
For example, one of our events had a player that didn't care about playing the game and only receiving the participation prize. Not only that, it was obvious that they were disgruntled about the game and was taking frustrations out on others.
That's not how we run at the store.
We observed it, we handled it, and we are making changes moving forward about hosting events.
To give a bit more context, it was a more "serious" tournament (and we understand that some events are more serious than others). However, no matter how serious the event, we don't appreciate attitudes like that especially when it comes to belittling others.
We are putting together a "house rules" list to help prevent some of these incidents in the future.
Just know, it does take time to put it together and even longer to get the delivery right. And until then, we hope to see you at the Loft!
