The Truth about Growing as a Business

The Truth about Growing as a Business

We have grown leaps and bounds. And so much sooner than what anyone else expected.

In the past 5 months, we doubled our store front, adding so many more events to the calendar, and seeing more and more regular customers.

Saying that we are blessed is an understatement.

And it isn't anything special that we are doing.

It's literally because we have so many wonderful people that support us on our adventure and believe in the risks we take.

We have many more steps to take before we get to the ultimate goal. For now, we have to talk about the "not-so-fun" part of running a board game/TCG shop.

First, distributors don't care if you make a sale. Electric companies aren't willing to negotiate your due date. You can't go to cons without paying vendor fees.

So, after a long, long, LONG talk, we have to start charging for events and table fees.

When people only come in and use the space that we create; without adding to the community. It's really discouraging.

We get it. We're human too. However, being human doesn't change the very black-and-white situation that we face as business owners everyday.

Again, we don't want to seem doom-and-gloom. We really don't like this change. But we do it so we can keep the community we've built so hard alive and well.

We love being able to order speciality games, booster boxes, and other items that you can't find at regular store.

At the end of the day though, we have to be able to keep the lights on though.

So, we are going to start posting "entry fees," "table fees," and "event spaces."

We are excited to see where this challenge/opportunity takes us. And we thank you for being part of the adventure!

We will see you next time at The Dragon Loft
