This caught us by surprise

We had two guests stop at the store yesterday and they were browsing through the games. 

I don't normally ask, but I felt the "nudge" to ask, "How did you hear about us?"

The gentleman had said, "Honestly, we just type into Google game stores near me, and this place popped up in the number three slot."

I was flabbergasted and said out loud, "Really?" They both had the expression -- uh, yeah, duh, lady 😒

I proceed to explain WHY I was shocked. 

✨ We had open/got the LLC in September 2025. We were not a physical location at that point.

✨ We were doing pop-up game nights and doing farmers markets until March 1, 2026

(which by the way, we still haven't reached the two month mark yet)

✨ With everything I understand about SEO (which ain't much let me tell ya) we haven't been around long enough to be one the "first page" without paying an exorbitant amount of money

So I looked up the same thing and here is what I found. 

If you type in flat out, "game stores near me" in the Springfield area, we do NOT pop up and the number three spot.

So I did a little digging 🪏Here is what happened on my end:

First, I filtered "top rated "and "small business "

Then, I still noticed we were not in the number three slot. 

We are actually in the number two slot.  🥳

Which is still a nice feeling 😅 And it explains a bit more of how they found us. 

It still is an honor to be that highly rated for such a NEW store. 

And you've heard me say it before, and I'll say it again. It's because of the community that surrounds us. It isn't anything special that we do.
